The Walt rebrand, explained
Wallet launched five years ago as a simple bot for buying Toncoin and Bitcoin inside Telegram. In a letter on the company's site, Andrew Rogozov, CEO and founder of The Open Platform and Walt, writes that it has since grown into a full crypto platform for trading, investing and earning. Telegram's Gram wallet now covers simple everyday use, and Walt is meant for users who want to go further.
On the new name, the letter says: "The product got bigger, the name got shorter." The rebrand changes the name, the logo and the social handles, which are now @walt, @walt_news and @walt_support. Funds, accounts and settings stay the same. No studio is credited.
The Wallet logo was a blue gradient circle holding a white wallet icon, next to a black Wallet wordmark. The Walt logo drops the circle and the color. A mark of three slanted strokes sits in front of a heavy lowercase walt wordmark, in one color.
In short: In 2026 Wallet in Telegram renamed itself Walt and swapped its blue wallet icon for a one-color wordmark with a striped mark.
