The Sunautas rebrand, explained
Sunautas announced the change in a news post on its website dated Oct 1, 2026. The company says it is refreshing its corporate logo as it reaches its 100th anniversary. The new logo was published that day and becomes the official logo on Dec 1, 2026.
According to the post, the new logo stands for an open-minded attitude that spreads like the sun. Orange expresses warmth and navy expresses trust. The symbol is based on the kanji for person, a sign of the company's commitment to connections between people. A special page for the anniversary repeats the same explanation in a message from the president, Shun Kitano.
The company runs a range of businesses centered on mobility, including service stations, car rental and imported car dealerships, according to its website.
Side by side, the change is large. The old logo was a black italic katakana name, 株式会社サンオータス, with no symbol. The new logo adds a radiating symbol of orange and navy strokes and sets the name in Latin capitals. The post names no design studio.
In short: For its 100th anniversary, Sunautas swapped its italic katakana name logo for an orange and navy sun symbol and a Sunautas wordmark in Latin capitals.
