The Qnity rebrand, explained

DuPont announced in April 2025 that its electronics business would be called Qnity Electronics, and Chemical Engineering reported the name on 30 April. On 14 May 2025 DuPont followed with the brand identity itself. The company said the name combines Q, a symbol for electrical charge, with unity, and that Qnity would have more than 10,000 employees serving customers in more than 80 countries.

The release spelled out the logic of the mark. "The distinctive Q is evocative of the power icon on electronic devices, while the logo mark, designed as a flexible network radiating from a central chip‑like core, captures how we bring together people, companies and technologies to enable advanced computing and advanced connectivity," said Meg Miller, head of communications for DuPont's Electronics business.

Jon Kemp, president of the electronics business and chief executive elect of Qnity, framed it as a step forward: "Next generation technology requires next generation solutions, and with our bold new identity we are primed to deliver the next leap forward." DuPont completed the separation on 1 November 2025, and Qnity began regular way trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 3 November.

On the page, the logo is a clean black lockup: the network symbol of round dots joined by short links on the left, then Qnity in a light, rounded sans serif with the Q drawn as an open ring with a vertical stroke. It is an unusually literal piece of tech branding, but the power button reference is easy to grasp in a field full of abstract names.

In short: A Q that doubles as a power button, next to a network radiating from a chip.
