The Corteva Agriscience rebrand, explained

DowDuPont announced on Feb 26, 2018 that its agriculture division would become Corteva Agriscience. The company said the name is derived from a combination of words meaning "heart" and "nature". The spin-off was then expected by Jun 1, 2019.

"This is the start of an exciting journey," said James C. Collins, Jr., chief operating officer of DowDuPont's agriculture division.

The division unveiled the Corteva Agriscience brand identity and logo the same day at Commodity Classic, a farmer-led convention and trade show in the United States. Agri-Pulse covered the new name that week.

The logo pairs a blue circle cut by white diagonal stripes with Corteva in black capitals and agriscience in lowercase underneath. As this was a new company, there is no earlier Corteva mark to compare it with.

In short: DowDuPont's farm business got a name from heart and nature and a striped blue circle.
