The Amrize rebrand, explained
On 21 February 2025 Holcim announced that Amrize would be the name of its North American business once the planned spin-off was carried out. As an independent public company it would be North America's leading building solutions company, from foundation to rooftop. Jan Jenisch, Holcim's chairman and the designated chairman and chief executive of Amrize, said the name "marks an important step" as the business prepared to become independent.
Holcim explained that Amrize originates from two concepts, "ambition" and "rising". "Am" represents the commitment to high performance and innovation to meet customers' greatest ambitions, and "Rize" stands for the drive to lead construction forward across North America. Amrize later repeated the idea on its own site, adding that you can learn a lot about the company by understanding its name.
The name and branding were due to go into effect only when the spin-off completed, and until then the business kept operating as part of Holcim. That happened on 23 June 2025, when Amrize began trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the SIX Swiss Exchange under the ticker AMRZ, with more than 1,000 sites and about 19,000 teammates across the United States and Canada. Construction Dive covered the deal in March and updated its story on the day.
The logo is as blunt as the business. A solid navy symbol shaped like a capital A, split by an angled notch, sits beside a heavy, wide wordmark in capitals. There is no gradient and no second colour, just one deep blue that has to serve a business spanning cement, concrete, roofing and insulation. For a company that gathers many product brands under one roof, a single flat colour and a firm symbol is a disciplined way to look like the partner of choice for professional builders.
In short: Ambition and rising, in one flat navy with a bold A-shaped symbol.
