The Solventum rebrand, explained
3M announced the name on 16 November 2023. It joins "solving" and "momentum", which the company said stand for finding breakthrough solutions and for faster, nimbler innovation.
According to 3M, the logo turns the S from the name into an expressive symbol of limitlessness. Siegel+Gale, which created the name and identity with 3M's health care marketing team, says the custom wordmark mirrors the geometry of the symbol.
The name and branding took effect when the spin-off was completed in April 2024.
In short: An S that never stops solving.
