The Norwich City rebrand, explained

The club revealed the crest on 23 November 2021 and lit it up on Norwich Castle that evening. It said a brand review had found technical and accessibility problems with the old crest, and that several different versions were in use around its own stadium.

The lion, castle and canary were each redrawn with less detail so the crest works at small and large sizes. The black keyline was removed and the ball was moved to the centre to improve the balance.

The club worked with the agency SomeOne for two years and consulted supporters. The crest was adopted on 17 June 2022 alongside a bespoke typeface, Norwich Weave, which the club said took its inspiration from the city's history of weaving.

In short: Fewer lines, same canary.
