The Fiverr rebrand, explained

Fiverr turned ten in 2020, and the company used the milestone to tidy up a brand that had grown up with it. Its September release described the work as an evolution that keeps the essence of the original brand while showing how the company had matured and changed the way the world works. Chief marketing officer Gali Arnon was even more direct with Brand Innovators: it is not a rebrand but an evolution, she said, one that keeps the brand's core values of community, creativity and energy while adding new colours and a new logo.

The identity was developed with UK agency Koto, which Campaign US and Brand Innovators both credit. Brand Innovators reported that the two teams started in March 2020 with plans to meet in Tel Aviv and New York, but the pandemic pushed the whole collaboration onto Zoom. Fiverr's design team wrote that it held close conversations with community members and employees to understand how they saw the brand after a decade.

The logo is the clearest change. Campaign US noted that the wordmark moved from a serifed font to a simpler sans serif, with the dot of the i playfully rolling to become a period. Fiverr's designers framed that period as a nod to the old Fiverr circle, now repositioned at the end of the name, and added a fi ligature for small spaces that uses the period as a holding shape.

The palette went from one colour to four, with Fiverr Green still leading. Two typefaces, Domaine and Macan, were chosen to suggest a dialogue between buyers, sellers and teams. The system also borrows product interface pieces such as gig cards, search bars and messages as brand graphics, which suits a business that lives on screen. Photography swapped stock imagery for real buyers and sellers in their own workspaces.

The refresh launched beside It Starts Here, a documentary style campaign following a hydroponic farm, a pizzeria chain and an antique shop that turned to Fiverr freelancers during lockdowns.

As evolutions go, this is a good one. The old serif logo felt like a cheap marketplace; the sans serif with its rolling period feels like a confident platform without throwing away recognition. The period is a neat trick that turns a full stop into a sign of things getting done, exactly the promise Fiverr sells. The four colour palette is less distinctive than the logo, and Domaine is a fashionable choice, but the system is coherent and grown up.

In short: The dot rolls into a full stop.
