The Chopped Leaf rebrand, explained

Chopped Leaf opened its first restaurant in Kelowna, British Columbia, in 2009 and had more than 115 locations in Canada and the United States by 2024. Its logo was a stencil-style, all-caps wordmark that read "The Chopped Leaf" in grey and lime green.

On 26 June 2024 the chain announced a brand refresh with "a new logo and updated interior design." It described the new logo as "a modern take that maintains the chain's iconic colour palette, while introducing a new salad bowl icon." Kelowna Now noted the name is now set "in white-and-green lower-case letters, instead of all capital letters."

Toronto agency Shikatani Lacroix led the work. Jean-Pierre Lacroix said: "This brand refresh was an evolution, not a revolution." The agency's case study says the logo introduces "a hearty salad bowl icon" alongside a new interior with lower counters and local "hello" signage.

The new look was unveiled at the original Kelowna store on 20 and 21 July 2024, with half-price salads, wraps and bowls. In January 2025 the chain said it would extend the identity to packaging, uniforms, merchandise and marketing across the chain.

In short: All-caps stencil out, a salad bowl icon in.
