The Golden State Warriors rebrand, explained
The Warriors described the June 2019 update as one of the more subtle changes ahead of the 2019 to 20 season: a simpler, more distinctive representation of the Bay Area. The Bay Bridge logo had been in use since 2010.
According to the team, the new primary icon and global logo show a more accurate Bay Bridge with subtle details added to the span. The Copperplate font of the old identity gave way to a custom font, also used in the wordmark and a new W secondary logo.
SportsLogos.Net first spotted the set in EUIPO trademark filings by NBA Properties before the official reveal, while the team was still playing in the 2019 NBA Finals. It called the changes to the global logo minor but appreciated.
In short: A truer Bay Bridge.
