The FiberCop rebrand, explained

FiberCop is an unusual company. Its own release describes it as the first entity to emerge from the ownership separation of a former national telecom operator, a wholesale network manager with 26 million kilometres of fibre, set up on 1 July 2024 and backed by investors led by KKR Infrastructure alongside ADIA, CPP Investments, the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and F2i. Prima Comunicazione noted that it had separated completely from TIM.

Yet for its first year its logo still carried a reference to the former parent. On 23 July 2025, marking the anniversary, FiberCop presented a new visual identity. Prima reported that the T is gone, replaced by an interlocking F and C in white, red and green to underline its Italian character, developed by the company led by chairman and chief executive Massimo Sarmi with an outside brand consultancy. The company's release said the bold design evokes both fibre and copper, with the interlocking letters symbolising connection and solidity and the tricolour reflecting its commitment to national digitalisation. Its digital channels got a new minimalist layout as well.

The identity came with a new strategic language. FiberCop said it was shifting from communication about the what, meaning technical data and functions, to the why, meaning tangible benefits for customers, communities and the economy, and it set out a purpose: enabling ingenuity, building the future, connecting Italy. Five values with hashtag names, from act responsibly to care deeply, apply to its more than 18,300 staff.

Prima added a sharper reading. The new look also supports the regulatory process before Agcom and Brussels, which should recognise FiberCop as a wholesale only operator and lift obligations inherited from its time inside TIM. Removing the T, in other words, is not just aesthetics.

As design, the monogram is tidy and the tricolour is an obvious, slightly heavy handed patriotic gesture that every Italian network brand could claim. As strategy, it is exactly right. A company arguing to regulators that it is independent of TIM cannot keep TIM in its logo, and a fibre network owned by international funds benefits from wrapping itself in the flag. The hashtag values are the weakest part.

In short: The T comes off.
