The Zillow rebrand, explained
Zillow unveiled the refresh on 2 April 2019, with a simplified logo, larger listing photos and what it called "a simplified shopping experience". Inman described the logo change as subtle but noticeable, noting that the new mark "still looks like a house with a Z on it."
The rebrand came the same day Zillow launched Zillow Home Loans, created by renaming Mortgage Lenders of America, which it had bought the year before. GeekWire tied the new look to the company's shift from media and advertising towards the property transaction itself, including its Zillow Offers home-buying business.
Zillow also added its name to its agent advertising programme, which became Zillow Premier Agent, and released new commercials carrying the redesigned logo.
In short: The house got simpler.
