The Metso rebrand, explained
Shareholders approved the change at the annual general meeting on 3 May 2023, and Metso Corporation became the parent company name the next day. The company said the change would be rolled out globally in phases.
Metso said its visual identity stays unchanged and only the logo reflects the new name. Outotec continues as a product brand for some key technologies and products.
Chief executive Pekka Vauramo said the company wanted a name that is short yet established and well recognised among its stakeholders. Before the change, the combined company traded as Metso Outotec.
In short: Outotec drops out of the name.
