The PostNL rebrand, explained
According to the PostNL Annual Report 2011, the listed holding company TNT was renamed PostNL on 31 May 2011, after shareholders approved the change at an extraordinary general meeting on 25 May. The rename took effect together with the demerger of TNT Express on the same day.
The postal business TNT Post was rebranded as PostNL in 2011. The report says the TNT Post name would disappear gradually in the Netherlands and be fully replaced by 2013, with the rebranding outside the Netherlands to follow, ultimately in 2014.
The before file here is the TNT Post lockup with its crown and sure we can tagline from the tntpost.nl header in January 2011. The after file is the PostNL mark from the postnl.nl header in October 2011. No official source we checked names the designer of the identity, so none is credited here.
In short: The crown stays, TNT goes.
