The Novonesis rebrand, explained
Novozymes and Chr. Hansen announced the name on 13 December 2023 and completed the combination on 29 January 2024, creating a company of about 10,000 people working across more than 30 industries. Novozymes was the legal surviving entity.
The companies said Novonesis means a new beginning and derives from the Greek word genesis. They said the name reflects a new era of biosolutions.
LBB reported that the identity toolkit covers a logo, monogram, colour, typography and brand elements, drawing on the organic shapes seen in a petri dish. Logos-World described the logo as a lowercase, slightly rounded sans serif with selective ink traps.
