## The rebrand, explained

According to its Corporate Responsibility Report 2012, Repsol presented its new brand and corporate vision at the 2012 General Meeting and at the launch of the Strategic Plan 2012-2016. Repsol announced the approval of that plan and a new organisational structure in a press release dated 28 May 2012.

The report says the new brand and visual identity were launched to bring the company's image in line with the new vision, and that they were being rolled out across the service station network, products, buildings and every area of the company worldwide.

The before file here is the stacked lockup on a navy square from the repsol.com header in March 2012. The after file is the horizontal lockup from the same site in June 2013, with the orange and red symbol beside a navy wordmark. No official source we checked names a designer or agency, so none is credited here.

In short: Out of the navy box and onto one line.
