## The rebrand, explained

The Brewers unveiled the new look at Miller Park on 18 November 2019, ahead of the 2020 season marking 50 years since the Seattle Pilots moved to Milwaukee. The ball-in-glove, designed by Tom Meindel in a 1977 fan contest, had been the primary logo from 1978 to 1993.

The team said the tips of the m and b are now connected to symbolise the bond between the club and the city. The baseball is centred and has two seams that split it into three parts, for the fans, the city and the state.

Navy, worn since 1994, replaces the original royal blue, which survives as a ring around the new circular primary lockup. USA Today noted the return of a logo fans had long favoured.

In short: The ball-in-glove is back.
