## The rebrand, explained

For most people, Creative Review observed, using Eventbrite has meant clicking mindlessly through a checkout to buy tickets. The platform wanted to be seen instead as a hub for discovering live events, and its own announcement cited research that 95% of 18 to 35 year olds want to bring their online interests into real-life experiences. Its chief marketing officer said the aim was to infuse more emotion and joy into how people find events.

Eventbrite worked with Buck on the brand refresh and Instrument on the consumer app redesign. The old logo, a lowercase 'e' in a circle, was replaced by a monogram that Creative Review said resembles thickly daubed paint. Called The Path, its winding shape is meant to evoke the journey from discovery to memory-making. It can take on textures for different communities: Eventbrite described sweet treats for food lovers, leafy patterns for plant lovers, instruments for music fans and swirls for artists.

The orange stays, in a new shade, within a palette of highlighter neons, softer secondary colours and what Eventbrite calls energy auras, expressive neon gradients. Founders Grotesk anchors a new typographic identity chosen to feel approachable and contemporary, and the wordmark was redrawn. Buck added two illustration styles: a library of social stickers and abstract flat black shapes evoking portals, used across the app. The verbal identity aims for levity, and a campaign, Get Into It, launched alongside It-Lists, event picks from more than 25 cultural tastemakers in 12 cities including New York, London and Melbourne. Buck's creative director said the system should pull you in like being in a crowd.

The ambition is right: nobody loves a ticketing checkout.

But The Path is a squiggle doing a lot of narrative work, and painted monograms, neon gradients and Founders Grotesk are the house style of every lifestyle brand of the moment. The community textures are the genuinely good idea, and they will only work if organisers actually use them.

In short: A painted path to the party.
