## The rebrand, explained

Banesco Banco Universal announced the new image from its head office in Caracas, linked live with its operations in Panama, the Dominican Republic, the United States and Puerto Rico. According to the release, it was first presented to staff, clients and partners on October 7. The release does not name a design studio.

The release says the three traditional spheres are now ellipses that lean forward to suggest evolution, growth and the future, and that each letter of the custom typeface was retouched by hand to fit the curves of the symbol. Banesco returns to the green of its first identity, updates its blue and keeps its red: green for innovation, blue for trust and red for the human side. The update also covers Nativa, Todoticket and Banesco Seguros.

Side by side, the old logo stacked three round spheres above a red ring, next to a heavy navy Banesco wordmark with the green script Contigo beneath it. The new logo drops the ring and the script: three tilted ellipses in green, navy and red sit beside a lighter, rounder wordmark.
